On October 2 1977, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the completed Amusement Park in Mt Taesong.
That day he looked round several places of the amusement park till dark, saying with great satisfaction that it was wonderfully built and Pyongyang citizens and children would like to come here.
When officials asked him to leave it repeatedly, he walked along the dark compound road in the van, saying we could not let our children ride the amusement facilities free from worry without looking round it even once and he wanted to visit every place of it though it would be a little late.
When his entourage reached the mad mouse, he strode for a car and rode it though officials dissuaded him.
They looked strained as the mad mouse ran at full speed rapidly turning here and there along the steep rail track with heartrending noise. When it safely arrived at the station, they rushed to him to see if he was all right.
Getting off the car, he told them to ride it if they hadn’t ridden it yet and burst into a hearty laughter.
It was a day the Chairman spent examining the safety of the amusement facilities for the happy laughter of the people that would resound in the amusement park.
