Chinese Foreign Minister Denounces American Anti-China Policy

Qin Gang, the Chinese foreign minister, slammed the U.S. for its policy against China at the recent press conference held after the First Session of the 14 th National People’s Congress.

Concerning the incident of shooting down the Chinese balloon, he said that it was an inevitable and unexpected accident but the U.S. engineered a diplomatic crisis by relying on the abuse of force in opposition to the spirit of the international law and practices. Then he criticized the U.S. for its policy against China saying that it has completely deviated from the normal track, both rational and sound.

He continued that what the U.S. is saying about the “competition” with China is, in essence, an all-out containment and suppression of China and that “reinforcement of guardrails” and “non-collision” referred to by the U.S. in the Sino-U.S. relations means that China should not react to the violence or abusive language, which is impossible for China. He warned that it is inevitable for the Sino-U.S. relations to fall into collision and confrontation if the U.S. persists in rushing along the wrong track in a frenzied manner.

It can be seen that his above remarks may take into consideration an all-out pressure of the U.S. against China, which is getting much more serious nowadays.

In this year alone, the U.S., together with the Netherlands and Japan, agreed on restricting the export of advanced semiconductor-making equipment to China. It also decided to sell US$ 619 million worth arms to Taiwan and imposed sanctions on 28 Chinese entities.

In addition, the House of Representatives of the U.S. is working on the bill on granting the U.S. president the right to ban the use of TikTok, the Chinese SNS application and the U.S. House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party has organized a hearing called “Threat to the U.S. by the Chinese Communist Party”. Like this, the anti-China pressure by the U.S. is escalating.

The international public opinion is commenting that the Sino-U.S. relations get more strained after shooting down of the Chinese balloon by the U.S. and the rift in their relations will grow bigger.
