The Central Committee of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea held a meeting to call on the agricultural workers across the country to wage a fierce emulation drive for attaining this year’s goal of grain production at Wonhwa Farm in Phyongwon County on March 30.
The meeting was attended by Ju Chol Gyu, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Jang Ki Chol, secretary of the South Phyongan Provincial Committee of the WPK, Kil Sang Bong, vice-chairman of the UAWK Central Committee, officials concerned, UAWK members and other agricultural workers.
The appeal of the UAWK Central Committee to the agricultural workers across the country was read out at the meeting.
The appeal emphasized that the current socialist emulation drive is a sacred struggle for thoroughly implementing the Party’s policy by developing the agricultural production of the country by dint of ideology and mass movement.
It called on all the agricultural workers across the country to wage a fierce socialist emulation drive to attain this year’s goal of grain production at any cost and successfully achieve the long-term goal for agricultural development.
It put forward as another important task for the agricultural workers at present to produce more vegetable, fruits, meat and eggs and increase production of industrial crops in a planned way.
It stressed the need for the UAWK organizations to further enhance their responsibilities and role so as to firmly prepare all their members as masters of the rural revolution and creators and enjoyers of modern civilization.
The UAWK Central Committee ardently called on the agricultural workers across the country to do farming well in order to reap a bumper crop this year.
