10 years have passed since Changjon Street of our own unique style was built in the Mansudae area where the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il , the eternal leaders of our Party and people stand.
But whenever we listen to the sound of happy laughter and singing voices coming from the apartment windows at Changjon Street, we look back with deep emotions on the history of ardent love for the people written by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has devoted great efforts to building every single apartment at the highest level for the people.
On May 30, 2012, he visited the construction site of Changjon Street nearing completion.
On this day, he looked around the 45-storeyed apartment building in Taedongmun-dong, the tallest one in the street.
Respected General Secretary stood by a window on the balcony taking a panoramic view of the magnificently transformed street and gave valuable teachings. Then he stopped to listen to a subtle sound. He told the accompanying officials that it seems the wind penetrates through the window seams and the sound of wind makes the rooms cold and people cannot sleep well in the winter.
He paid meticulous attention to even the slightest sound of wind. While taking his step to another room, he said to take a step to make the windows windproof. He stressed this issue time and again while looking round apartments of another building.
Like this, the peerlessly great man attaches primary and absolute importance to the people’s interests. Under his meticulous attention and scrupulous care, an emergency campaign was conducted thereafter to find and fix all the faulty windows in the apartments in Changjon Street. And the people, without paying a penny, were able to move into the newly-built snug homes which do not permit even a light wind.
Today, ideal streets and modern rural houses continue to sprout up like mushrooms in Pyongyang and across the country. Through this reality, our people sense more strongly that the continued journey for the people made by respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is to provide the people with better and more wonderful living conditions and that every second, day and month of thought and effort he has spent for the people has become a stepping-stone to the country’s prosperity and shines as a new era of the Workers’ Party overflowing with the people’s happiness.
