Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un always emphasizes that we are building a socialist power in order to provide our people with a happy life, having nothing to envy in the world. His tireless efforts made to that end were also witnessed at the Changgwang Shop in Mirae Scientists Street in Pyongyang.

Changgwang Shop is a building with 5 stories above and 1 storey under the ground.

It covers the total floor space of more than 7,200㎡.

The shop consists of several counters for a variety of hard-glass dishes, plastic dishes, supplies for children, electrical appliances, entertaining articles and sports goods, a meeting room, sci-tech learning space, etc.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un personally selected the place to build the shop and gave guidance on the designs. He also dispatched a competent construction team of the People’s Army and took measures to solve all issues arising during the construction.

On September 24, 2015, he visited the newly built shop in the Mirae Scientists Street.

Changgwang shop had greatly contributed to the improvement of people’s material and cultural life for decades since its establishment in November, 1983, on the personal initiative of Chairman Kim Jong Il , he said.

And he added that it has now been rebuilt along with the formation of Mirae Scientists Street, enabling it to fully discharge its mission and tasks as a retail outlet exclusively selling the various kinds of daily necessities produced by our working class.

Looking around the several stories of the shop till dark in the evening, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un acquainted himself in detail with the construction and service preparations.

He said that Changgwang shop was built twice larger than before into a modern retail outlet, materializing the Party’s idea of giving top priority to both convenience and aesthetic beauty, thus being able to more substantially contribute to translating into reality Chairman Kim Jong Il ’s love for people for the development of the shop.

He further emphasized that they should hand down the immortal exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il with their good customer service.

Many people would visit the shop after its opening, he further noted and told the officials in earnest that they should visit the shop frequently to find out how the Party’s popular policies are implemented and to promptly solve the problems arising in the management and operation of the shop.

Changgwang shop that was built thanks to his great love for the people has now become a thriving and popular retail store.
