Kim Chaek University of Technology, a pedigree establishment for training scientific and technological personnel in the DPRK, marked its 75th founding anniversary. The university is lending a great impetus to the scientific and technological development of the country and its economic construction.
Its foundation and development are associated with the undying feats of the peerlessly great men.
President Kim Il Sung, who had worked out a plan to build a base for training national technical personnel after Korea's liberation, made preparations for founding the university and declared the birth of the then Pyongyang University of Technology on September 27, Juche 37 (1948).
Since then, the university has developed into the highest seat of scientific and technological education for training competent sci-tech personnel with strong educational forces and research groups and solid material and technical foundations, all of which were provided under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.
On September 28, 2018, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the university marking its 70th founding anniversary. He put his trust in the university by saying that it has made a great contribution to the education in science and technology in the country, the independent development of the national economy and the strengthening of the national defence capability.
The university is now giving a powerful stimulus to the development of the country's science and technology and its economic construction, true to his noble intention.
A research group of the university contributed to putting on a normal, modern or scientific basis the production of industrial establishments in various economic sectors, including the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex.
By carrying out the tasks for establishing the integrated automation system and power control system of various factories in Kimhwa County of Kangwon Province, the university ensured the inauguration ceremony of a regional industrial factory.
Students of the university came first in Codechef, an international internet program contest held in the first half of last year, and won the national programming skill contest.
On the basis of the achievements made in modern science and technology, the university has pushed ahead with the efforts to make the educational contents practical, comprehensive and modern and further improved the heuristic method of teaching to train students to be creative talents with high abilities of research and application.
