A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, in a press conference on April 23, decried the “Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 2023”published by the US State Department.
The content related to China is full of political lies and prejudices, he said, adding that China expresses deep dissatisfaction at it and resolutely opposes it.
The US found fault with human rights situations in nearly 200 countries and regions over the world, but did not mention its human rights situation, he said. This is another revelation of hegemony, tyranny, violent nature and double-dealing of the US whose conduct disagrees with its words, he added.
If the US is truly interested in human rights, it should appropriately solve its own problems in the country, including gun violence, drug abuse, racial discrimination and abuse of human rights and dignity, he said, urging it to squarely see and reflect on the human rights disaster caused by interference in the internal affairs of other countries, supply of munitions for the areas of conflict and instigation of conflict.
He demanded that the US refrain from interfering in the internal affairs of other countries and abusing human rights under the signboard of “human rights and democracy”.
