Recently, the spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry indicated that the resolution adopted by China to impose sanctions on the U.S. munitions industry and its high-ranking officials is one of their anti-U.S. countermeasures and condemned the Biden administration for putting into operation all kinds of anti-China sanctions measures one after another.
The spokesperson said as follows:
China has firmly rejected with consistency the unilateral sanctions and “Long-Arm Jurisdiction” that neither resorted to the international law nor were given authority by the UNSC. And in the future, too, China will continue to take all necessary measures to defend its justified and legitimate rights and interests.
China strongly demands the U.S. to seriously reflect on itself, to clearly see the responsibility it should take upon for the outbreak of Ukrainian crisis and its aggravation, and also to stop such acts as tarnishing other’s reputation, pressurizing them and abusing unilateral sanctions.
Finally, the spokesperson stressed that Taiwan issue is the core of the core interests of China and the first and foremost red line that should not be overstepped in Sino-U.S. relations.
