Kim Chun Phil,artistic gymnastics coach of the Pyongyang Sports Club

Kim Chun Phil coached An Chang Ok and other young gymnasts, contributing totheir winning of six medals including two goldsat the 19th Asian Games last year as the women’s artistic gymnastics coach ofthe DPRK team.

Kim has been nominated as one of the top ten coaches of the DPRK this time for the fifth time since she was chosen for the first time in Juche 97 (2008).

Jong Song Hui,teacher at the weightlifting department of Central Sports School

Jong trained Kang Hyon Gyong, helping her to set new world and Asianrecords and prove successful in the women's 55kg category weightlifting of the19th Asian Games and the 2023 IWF Grand Prix tournament as the coach of theDPRK team.

She also contributedto making Ri Suk establish a new world record and win three gold medals in thewomen's 64kg categoryweightlifting of the2023 IWF Grand Prix tournament.

Kye Song Il,weightlifting coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team

As a weightliftingcoach in charge of Ri Song Gum and senior women’s weightlifting coach of the nationalteam, Kye Song Il helped his player establish two new world records and threenew records of the Asian Games and obtain good results in the women's 49kg category weightlifting of the19th Asian Games.

He was awarded the title of Merited Athlete for having trained his player towin several international events in the past. He contributed to making Ri SongGum earn a gold, silver and bronze medals in the women’s 49kg category of the2023 IWF Grand Prix tournament.

Pak Chol Jun,boxing coach of the Kumgangsan Sports Team

A boxing coach of the Kumgangsan Sports Team in charge of Pang Chol Mi and senior women’s boxing coach of the national team, Pak Chol Jun trained Pang todefeat the Chinese player, world champion, in the final and receive a gold medal at the women’s 54kg category event of the 19thAsian Games.

He won the title of People’s Athlete for making Pang Chol Mi win the 51kg category of the IBFWorld Women’s Boxing Championships in 2018 and has so far been selected as oneof the top ten coaches of the DPRK for the fifth time.

Kim Myong Chol, wrestling coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team

Kim Myong Chol was in charge of Mun Hyon Gyong and coached his player to be successful at the women’s 62kg category wrestling of the 19th Asian Games by defeating her Japanese opponentin the final.

He trained Mun to win international events including the 33rd worldmilitary wrestling championships and won the title of Merited Athlete.

Ri Chol Rim,Taekwon-Do coach of the Ryongaksan Taekwon-Do Team

Ri Chol Rim trained Kim Wi Ryong from the North Phyongan ProvincialTaekwon-Do Team, who took part in theinternational event for the first time with an ambitious goal to get a goldmedal, to win the men’s 85kg category individual sparring of the 22ndTaekwon-Do World Championships held in Kazakhstan last year.

And he made sure that Jo Jin Myong and Jong Yun Chol from the North Hwanghae and South Hamgyong provincial Taekwon-Do teams snatched goldmedals in the recent championships.

Ri Chol Nam, weightlifting coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team

Ri Chol Nam, weightlifting coach of the April 25 Combat Sports Team incharge of Ri Chong Song and senior men’s weightlifting coach of the nationalteam, trained Ri Chong Song to set two new records of the Asian Games and winthe men’s 81kg categoryweightlifting of the 19th Asian Games, and earn three goldmedals in the 2023 IWF Grand Prix tournament.

He was awarded the title of Merited Athlete in recognition of hiscontribution to his players’ successes in international events, and wasselected as one of the top ten coaches of the DPRK for the sixth time last year.

Choe Hyong Chol, athletics (marathon) coach of the Amnokgang Sports Club

Choe Hyong Chol is a competent coach who trained several marathon aces inthe past.

He trained Han Il Ryong to become a new national record holder and nationalchampion and led him to win second place at the men’s marathon of the 19thAsian Games.

Choe was selected as one of top ten coaches of the DPRK for the second timelast year after Juche 111(2022).

Sim Chong Rim, shooting coach of the Defence Sports Club of the Ministry ofNational Defence

As a coach in charge of Ri Ji Ye and senior women’s shooting coach of the national team, he coached his players to successes at the 19th Asian Games. His team won thewomen's 10m moving target shooting team event and his players were placedsecond and third in individual events there.

He also led theDPRK players to win second place in the 10-metre moving target shooting teamevent of the 52nd World Shooting Championships. He was awarded the title ofMerited Athlete in Juche 107(2018).

Han Chol Hak,football coach of the April 25 Sports Team

Han Chol Hak led his team to lift four trophies in national eventsincluding the 2022-2023 DPRK WomenDs Premier League. In the course of it, two bestplayers were produced.

He was awarded the title of Merited Athlete in Juche 108 (2019) and selected as one of the top ten coaches of the DPRK in 2021 forthe first time.
