In 1977, there was no rain in all parts of the DPRKuntil the beginning of April. So crops were being affected by drought.
At that time, President Kim IlSung was providing on-the-spotguidance on farms in KaechonCity and Nyongbyon County.
After coming back to his lodgings late at night on April 14, he opened the window regardless of thetime to see the nocturnalsky where dark clouds were hovering.
On the morning of April 15, it finally began to rain.
The President who had been looking out of thewindow went out to the courtyard without putting on his overclothes.
After guessing the amount of rain by stretching his hand, he wore a broad smile on his face.
At thattime, an official rushed out to him with hisoverclothes fearing for his health.
“Leader! Please don’t be so careless of yourhealth this morning,” the official said anxiously.
As he read his mind, the President laughed heartily, saying that although theyattached importance to his birthday, the rain brought him greater happinessthan his birthday.
