One day in June Juche 103(2014), Kim Jong Un, general secretary of theWorkers’ Party of Korea, visited the Samsok Combined Fruit Farm.
Meeting the General Secretary, officialsof the farm could not raise their heads as they felt uneasy for having failedto do fruit farming well in the previous year.
But instead of puttingthe blame on them, the General Secretary inquired about the cause of their poorapple farming in the previous year and gave detailed instructions on how toincrease the production of apples at the Samsok Combined Fruit Farm, the fruitof untiring efforts and devotion of Chairman Kim Jong Il.
They included themeasures to increase soil fertility by establishing a production cycle combiningagricultural production and livestockfarming, applyingvarious kinds of fertilizers including microelement fertilizer to fruit treesin a scientific and technical way and others.
And he toldofficials that they should not do fruit farming in such a way that a blind hensometimes finds corn, that fruittrees should bemanured and tended in a scientific way in the fruit farming sector, that thefruit farms should find the clear cause of the death of fruit trees and the fallin production and take measures to normalize production in unfavourable climateconditions and that the fruit farms should take strict measures to preventdamage fromharmful insects and flood.
History does notknow leaders of any country in the world who were so much concerned about fruitfarming.
They were theprecious instructions that can be given only by the General Secretary who putshis heart and soul with a burning desire to provide our people with a more plentifuland happy life.
