U.S. Attempts to Control China’s Chips Export Slammed

Recently, China censured the U.S. for putting pressure upon Japanese and Dutch companies to limit their imports of semi-conductor chips from China.

The spokesperson of the Chinese foreign ministry revealed that the U.S. is exploiting economic trade and sci-tech issues as a political tool with its constant expansion of control over China’s chips export.

He expressed China’s resolute and consistent stand against the U.S. acts saying that it is in the interest of neither party to put pressure upon China’s chip industry by threatening other countries, to seriously undermine the international trade regulations, and to wreck the stability of the world industry and supply chains.

The Global Times issued an editorial to the effect that although the U.S. government keeps on saying that it has no intention to obstruct China’s economic development, its actions – of constantly raising the chips barrier against China – speak otherwise. It continued as follows:

The U.S. is attempting to establish close collaboration in semi-conductor chips supply chain with its allying countries through so called “chips diplomacy” and create an international alliance excluding China in the ultramodern sci-tech industry sector.

The anti-China control and pressure of the U.S. is going to do harm to the whole world, and all the more, to itself.

The typical “sci-tech domination” of the U.S. has made not only China but also every country to understand the importance of defending the fair system in the sci-tech domain and promoting common development.

In conclusion, the Global Times criticized that the U.S. continued expansion of control over semi-conductor chips export to China was an expression of hegemonic thinking of enforcing geopolitical theory of confrontation on economic and technological sectors.
