NK News is hiring

A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) issued the following press statement on August 6:

Germany announced on August 2 that it joined the UN Command, the US-led multinational aggression mechanism.

The UN Command is an illegal tool for an aggressive war that the U.S. invented by abusing the name of the UN in order to drag the armed forces of its vassal states into the Korean War it ignited in 1950.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK strongly denounces Germany’s entry into the UN Command, regarding it as an act of wrecking peace and stability and aggravating the situation on the Korean peninsula.

The 30 th session of the UN General Assembly in 1975 adopted a resolution on dissolving the UN Command in accordance with the unanimous will and demand of the UN member states desirous of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula.

The function of the UN Command should have been extinct in the last century. Yet the U.S.’ attempt to revive it is aimed at turning the UN Command into the second “Asian version of NATO” by bringing in its allies, to contain militarily the DPRK and her neighbors.

Germany’s improper act is again reminiscent of its disgraceful past of having inflicted untold misfortune and pain upon mankind with ravages of World War II in the last century.

Germany should bear in mind that its military intervention on the Korean peninsula, the hottest spot in the world, will serve as a malignant factor in preserving its own security and image.

Germany’s entry into the UN Command is clearly not conducive to maintaining peace on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of the region but rather would have a devastating negative impact on the development interests of the DPRK.

The present ever-escalating military confrontation on the Korean peninsula demands that the DPRK take more thorough measures for bolstering up her self-defensive capabilities to defend the national sovereignty and security interests.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK notifies in advance that Germany’s entry into the UN Command will inevitably aggravate the military and political situation on the Korean peninsula and in the rest of the region, and that Germany will be held wholly accountable for all the consequences arising therefrom.
