In early May Juche 102 (2013), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un inspected the Munsu Water Park at its early stage of construction.
Looking over the construction site of the park, he said with pleasure that it is an excellent place for the park as it adjoins the Taedong River and has favourable conditions for transport.
As the site has favourable conditions and environment, many project proposals had been made in the past.
However, Kim Jong Un , who made painstaking efforts to provide the people with better conditions and environment for their cultural and emotional life, rejected all the proposals and took the measure of building a modern water park there for the people.
He said: We are going to provide our people with a world-class comprehensive water park that meets the requirements of the new century, no matter how enormous funds and much labour are required to build it. When it is completed, working people, youth and students will be very happy.
In October that year, several months later, the water park was splendidly built on 110 000 square metres in the Munsu area. It is fully provided with various kinds of water slides, water tanks, outdoor and indoor wading pools, a gym and other cultural and leisure amenities.
