Comrade Kim Jong Un , President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), paid an official visit to the Russian Federation in September 2023, with a view to expand and develop the Korea-Russia relations of friendship and cooperation onto a new higher level. During the visit, he had a historic meeting with Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation.

The meeting at the Vostochny Spaceport on September 13, 2023 between Comrade Kim Jong Un , President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, and Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation marked a significant milestone for enhancing and developing the traditional friendship between the two countries into the relations of eternal comrades-in-arms and future-oriented strategic relations.

The historic Korea-Russia Summit in September 2023 exchanged in-depth views on the remarkable successes being achieved in all fields including politics, the economy, military, and culture for attaining the strategic goals of building a powerful country, on the experiences of constructive cooperation, as well as on the way forward for national prosperity and welfare of the two peoples.

The top leaders of the two countries shared frank views on important issues and immediate cooperation items. They touched on such issues as defending the sovereignty and developmental interests of the two countries and safeguarding regional and global peace and security and international justice by further strengthening strategic and tactical cooperation between the two countries, extending full support to and solidarity with each other and pooling efforts on the joint front to frustrate the military threat, provocation, arbitrariness and high-handedness of the imperialists scheming to deprive humanity of independence, progress and peaceful life. And they reached a satisfactory agreement and consensus on all issues.

The historic DPRK-Russia summit held at Vostochny Spaceport further strengthened the traditional bonds of neighborly cooperation between the DPRK and Russia rooted in comradeship and militant unity. It opened up a new chapter in invariably advancing the bilateral relations along the road of overall development.

The friendly relations between the DPRK and Russia have been strengthened as a mighty strategic fortress and engine in defending international justice and accelerating the building of a new multi-polar world. Another historic meeting that the top leaders of the two countries had in Pyongyang on 19 June 2024 built on this momentum, fully displaying the invincibility and solidity of DPRK-Russia friendship and unity once again.

During the historic DPRK-Russia Pyongyang Summit, the new inter-state treaty on establishing a comprehensive and strategic partnership was concluded. With the conclusion of this treaty, the relationship between the two countries has evolved onto a new higher level of an alliance and a bright path has been opened for defending the security environment of the region and the world and successfully propelling the idea of building a powerful and prosperous state in line with the common interests.

The meetings between top leaders of the two countries at Vostochny Spaceport and in Pyongyang and their special friendship have great significance in ensuring strategic and forward-looking development of the relations between the DPRK and Russia which have stood the tests of time for generations and centuries as well as for vigorously advancing the cause of building powerful nations – the common desire of the two peoples.

Our Republic remains firm and steadfast in her stand to develop the invincible relations of friendship between the DPRK and Russia on a permanent basis, strongly supporting and closely cooperating with her strategic partner, the Russian Federation in a multifaceted, all-round way.

The solid comradely unity and militant friendship between the DPRK and the Russian Federation have been highly elevated to a comprehensive and strategic partnership in the new era under the outstanding and energetic leadership of top leaders of the two countries. They will demonstrate its great validity all over the globe, inspiring and encouraging the progressive humankind in their struggle to build a just and peaceful new world.
