Today the Korean people are striving hard for their country’s prosperity under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea with a firm faith in their strength and optimism about their cause.

What is encouraging them in their effort is the important speech titled, Let Us Make Redoubled Efforts for the Prosperity of Our Great State the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made on September 9, the founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

A banner guaranteeing brisk progress, his speech serves as a powerful action programme that makes it to hasten simultaneous changes and rejuvenation in the overall space of socialist construction by stubbornly working while holding fast to the superiority unique to the Korean state and tapping all potentials for development in the struggle for building a prosperous country with a strong army.

This year is a year of miracles and transformations when gigantic projects that showcase the development of the country towards comprehensive prosperity are more aggressively organized and conducted and when the confidence and patriotic will of all the Korean people to achieve greater successes and victories are given fuller play.

Pursuant to the policy-oriented tasks advanced by the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the Korean people have launched a dynamic campaign to keep an upturn in the national development with a heightened spirit of offensive on all fronts of socialist construction from the outset of this year.

As a result, the overall national economy keeps growing and the goals for the revitalization of production and the readjustment and reinforcement of equipment are being accomplished as scheduled in all sectors of the national economy. Also, conditions are being provided to bring about good results in the fields directly related to the stabilization and improvement of the people’s life including agriculture, light industry and urban management.

The policy of regional development for realizing the long-cherished desire of the WPK has been expanded and the efforts to realize it are gaining momentum. A series of advance have been made in reinforcing the functions and capability of the state for overcoming natural disasters and signal successes have been achieved in the research and production for national defence.

It is the fighting spirit unique to the Korean people to continue to work for bigger victories and make uninterrupted progress and innovation with redoubled efforts and devotion.

Not much time is left until the end of this year.

In the speech Kim Jong Un said that urgent efforts should be made to further enrich and build on the successes achieved this year by making the most of the remaining months and indicated scientific ways for performing massive transformations to be specially recorded in the history of the development of the country at the stage of steady upswing.

Every undertaking to conclude this year victoriously is not easy to carry out and the Korean people are faced with enormous difficulties, but they are confident of their strength hardened through their ceaseless and determined struggle for a better future and they have the solid foundations for self-support and enormous potentials for development.

Now the Korean people have turned out as one in the endeavour to glorify this year as one of proud victories on the great strength of loyalty and patriotism, more closely united around General Secretary Kim Jong Un .
