China denounced U.S. in its move to deploy medium- and short-range missiles in Japan.

Not long ago, the spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry said that the U.S., seeking absolute military edge, persists in its military deployment including a medium-range ballistic missile system in the Asia-Pacific region.

The spokesperson warned that this will increase the motive for an arms race, aggravate tension in the region, threaten regional peace and security and upset global strategic balance and stability.

The spokesperson continued as follows:

China has already expressed its firm stand against this on many occasions.

We strongly demand the U.S. to give up its conceived deployment plan.

We urge all countries concerned to have a clear understanding of the real intention of the U.S., make careful judgment and actions in the military security field and work to maintain regional and international peace and stability.

The spokesperson ended by stressing that China will keep a wary eye on all relevant moves and firmly defend its own security interests.
