Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sent a message of congratulations to Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, on October 7.

The message reads as follows:

My closest Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin,

I extend my sincere and warm congratulations to you on your birthday.

You have made remarkable successes in the course of resolutely defending the sovereignty, security and development interests of the country and building a powerful Russia with energetic and wise leadership, having assumed your heavy and sacred duty for the prosperity of Russia and promotion of the wellbeing of the Russian people for a long time, and you have thus earned boundless trust and support from the Russian people.

I am now recollecting with deep emotion the day when we together declared to the whole world the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in Pyongyang on last June 19, elevating the traditional DPRK-Russia relations into invincible ones of alliance and eternal strategic relations that have as the common idea to realize independence and justice and deepening our personal relations.

Meetings and comradely ties between us, to be continued in the future, will make a positive contribution to further consolidating the eternal foundation of the DPRK-Russia friendship and the strategic and cooperative relations, put on an orbit of fresh comprehensive development, and to defending regional and global peace and international justice.

I believe you will as ever lead great Russia only to the road of victory and honor full of vigor.

Availing myself of this opportunity, I reaffirm our full and disinterested support to and solidarity with the just cause of the army and people of Russia.

Wishing you happy birthday, I join my friends here in Pyongyang in toasting your good health and bigger success in your work.

Pyongyang will always stand by Moscow.

To my closest comrade,
