A week of film show has opened in the DPRK on the occasion of the greatest national holiday in February.
Documentary films including “Shine, Jong Il Peak” dealing with the immortal revolutionary exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il , who created the glorious history of victory of the country and laid the eternal foundation for the prosperity of the nation with his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and energetic leadership, will be shown at cinemas and halls of culture in Pyongyang and local areas.
“Day and Night of Confrontation,” a sequel to the feature film “One Day and One Night,” feature films “People of Jagang Province” (parts 1 and 2), “Lovely Sunshine” (parts 1 and 2) and “Airman Kil Yong Jo” will also be screened.
An opening ceremony took place at the Pyongyang International Cinema House on February 10.
Present there were Choe Hak Gun, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Choe Hui Thae, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal People’s Committee, officials, creators and artistes in the film sector and working people in Pyongyang.
Jong Yong Nam, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry, made an opening address.
After the ceremony, the participants watched the documentary film “Eternal Sun of People.”
The week of film show opened in each province on the same day.
