Ever since it was named after people, the Korean People’s Army has played a distinct role in building a thriving nation as the defender of the country and creator of people’s happiness.

The army possesses military capabilities strong enough to contain and control any challenges and its service personnel are full of determination to show no mercy to those who try to violate the sovereignty and right to existence of their country and people.

All the officers and men are armed with a steadfast spirit of defending their country and prepare themselves physically and tactically to perform any combat task. The KPA units of various services and arms are equipped with modern weapons with a high degree of strike and mobility and fully prepared to cope with any situation of modern warfare promptly and perfectly, thus reliably guaranteeing the environment for the country’s peaceful development.

The KPA stays faithful to its mission as the builder of people’s happiness upholding the slogans “Help the people!” and “Let us take upon ourselves both national defence and socialist construction!”

With a noble view that everything should be done at the best level when doing things for the people and top and absolute priority should be given to their interests and convenience, the service personnel have played a leading role in making breakthroughs in the economic construction, building monumental edifices and removing the aftereffects of natural disasters.

Over the recent years splendid and imposing new streets have been built in the capital city of Pyongyang and large-scale greenhouse farms and modern cultural and leisure facilities sprung up in various parts of the country. The Komdok area, a leading nonferrous mineral production base of the country, is turning into a beautiful mountain-gorge town. Last year modern rural residential quarters have been built in the flood-stricken areas of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang provinces and regional-industry establishments built in Songchon County of South Phyongan Province as the first result of the effort to implement the Regional Development 20×10 Policy. With the turn of this year similar factories were inaugurated one after another in nearly 20 cities and counties. They meet their regional features and their production equipment is on a highly automatic and scientific footing. All these achievements have been made thanks to the devoted efforts of the service personnel.

Under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un , the KPA service personnel dedicate their blood and sweat to the eternal prosperity of the country and the safety of the people, true to the appellation inscribed on their military colours.
