The Sci-Tech Complex, a grand temple for all-people learning, is located on Ssuk Islet in the Taedong River flowing through the heart of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.
Inaugurated in January 2016, the complex performs such functions as a multi-functional sci-tech dissemination centre and a huge e-library.
The complex runs a nationwide dissemination network that embraces an integrated information search system, a large-scale machine translation service system, an e-book management system, a sci-tech data reading system and a sci-tech learning space support system, which distribute numerous data to the working people and the sci-tech dissemination bases across the country.
In recent years alone, it has developed a comprehensive information service system for leisure complexes newly built in cities and counties.
It works to promote the development and exchanges of science and technology through online lectures, Q&A service, festivals, exhibitions, seminars, presentations, crash courses, sci-tech deliberations and conferences.
The number of visitors and subscribers to its website continues an upward swing. According to data available, the website has garnered over 116 million views over the past decade, with more than 700 million pieces of data distributed.
