Last December regional-industry factories were inaugurated in succession in 20 cities and counties across the DPRK.
As a result, 40 cities and counties of the country have laid a strong foundation for their independent development in a couple of years since the new regional development policy was put forward.
The completion of the new factories has brought great joy to the local people who are enjoying a new life and a new civilization.
Pak Ok Im, a woman living in the township of Koksan County, North Hwanghae Province, said that some days ago her whole family was delighted to receive a new house built and provided by the country for free, and now her whole village is in the festive air following the construction of modern regional-industry factories.
A resident living in the township of Yomju County, North Phyongan Province said that the products of the local regional-industry factories were so nice enough to be served at the wedding ceremonies for his children and present them with a fine set of furniture.
The inhabitants of the remote mountainous county of Jangphung in Kaesong Municipality said that the newly built factories turn out a variety of the specialties, including tasty and nutritious foodstuffs, smart and convenient plastic goods and garments for different seasons, so that it is hard to count them up.
The inhabitants in Kim Hyong Jik County and other parts of the country were provided with various kinds of foodstuffs with local brands such as confectionery, condiments and drinks on the occasion of the New Year. They are now confident of their better future.
