In June 2016 the respectedGeneral Secretary Kim Jong Unvisited the animal house at the renovated Mangyongdae Children's Camp.
At that time there were only afew species of animals in it.
When he arrived at Block No. 1of the camp after looking round in detail various places of the animal house,the General Secretary said that there were only a few kinds of animals in it,adding that the number of animal species should be increased even though itcould not keep tigers.
Theofficials weredeeply moved by his instructions full of affection, as he was so concernedabout how to provide the young campers with better conditions while looking ateven an animal house.
He continued to tell them thatthe problem of expanding the animal house and bringing more animals there shouldbe solved in cooperation with the Central Zoo and took detailed measures to that end.
And he tenderly said that thechildren would be happy if the animal house was widened and the number ofanimal species increased.
That day he also paidattention to the provision of feed in case of an increase in the number of animals.
Looking up to him who put hisheart and soul into providing the children with more pleasant camping, the officialsshouted to themselves, “No children in the world are as blessed as those of ourcountry.”
