A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK issued the following press statement on March 1:
Israel’s military attack on Iran, launched under the US active support and patronage, and the military action of the US which joined it are an illegal act of aggression and the most despicable form of violation of sovereignty in their nature from A to Z.
The fact that the US military threat to Iran, continued in the region for a long time, would lead to a realistic military invasion has already been expected to be possible, and it is a logical conclusion that stems from the intrinsic nature of the US, a hegemony-seeking and rogue nation.
The DPRK condemns in the strongest tone the shameless and villainous act of the US and Israel which put their domestic laws before the international law and readily use military muscle in order to realize their selfish and hegemonic ambitions.
The US’s increased acts for hegemony witnessed by the international community this year are an example substantiating their destructive role in ruining global peace and stability and its grave consequences.
The tyranny’s high-handed and arbitrary practices which do not face powerful counteraction and adequate resistance, make those countries directly related to the regional situation pay a dear price and give rise to concern that they may have a negative effect, which cannot be disregarded politically, economically and geopolitically, on the region which has no connection with the present Iranian situation.
The world highlights again the history in which the US destroyed peace in the Middle East for its hegemonic interests decades ago and met with the geopolitical failure and strategic setback after all.
The war of aggression by the US and Israel, which can never be justified with anything, can never be tolerated in any case.
The relevant and interested parties in the region are well advised to correctly grasp the essence of the offenders who chose aggression and war under the pretext of fake peace, and to fulfil their due responsibility in returning the trend in the Middle East situation back to peace and stability.
