Chairman of Standing Committee of DPRK SPA Meets with Speaker of State Duma of Russian Federation

There was a meeting between Comrade Jo Yong Won, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and Comrade Viacheslav Volodin, Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the Kumsusan State Guesthouse on April 25.
Present at the meeting were Comrade Kim Hyong Sik, Vice-Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, Comrade Kim Jong Gyu, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, officials concerned, leading members of the official delegation of the Russian Federation and Comrade Vladimir Topeha, Charge d’Affaires ad interim of the Russian embassy in the DPRK.
Comrade Jo Yong Won said that the dispatch of a high-level delegation to the inaugural ceremony of the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations by the leadership of the Russian Federation is a manifestation of sincere support and reverence of all the Russian people for the Korean people who are recollecting in humble reverence the shining lives of the war martyrs of the overseas military operations units and praying for their immortality. He expressed the stand to strengthen and develop the bilateral relations true to the noble intention of the top leaders of the two countries.
Comrade Viacheslav Volodin expressed his sincere thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un and all the Korean people who rendered support to expel the Ukrainian neo-Nazi occupiers from Kursk, stressing that Russia will never forget the feats of the heroic officers and soldiers of the DPRK who sacrificed their lives in the operations for liberating Kursk.
At the meeting they exchanged views on issues arising in further expanding and developing the exchange and cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries as well as on other matters of mutual concern. They reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to thoroughly implement the agreements reached at the historic DPRK-Russia Pyongyang summit.
The Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK hosted a reception to welcome the official delegation of the Russian Federation at the Kumsusan State Guesthouse that evening.
