In recent years, the Korean people have achieved victories on all fronts of building a socialist power under the unfurled banner of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance, true to the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
They have greatly promoted the increase of their national strength and built up the foundations of the independent economy even at a time when everything is in short supply, frustrating the enemy’s vicious moves to stifle their country.
Harsh and dangerous challenges that others would not withstand even a single day have faced them, but they learned to live on their own, deal with enemies and difficulties and defend their dignity and rights in the harsh environment.
The hostile forces’ challenge to it is still getting more persistent and the current difficulties are serious.
A great victory is accompanied by trials and struggle, and the victory of the revolution is inevitable but cannot be achieved without any difficulties and hardships.
The WRK held its Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee in December last year, in which it put forward a revolutionary line for smashing straight through the unprecedentedly severe trials, defending to the last the sovereignty and supreme interests of the country and opening the road to victory of the revolutionary cause of Juche under the unfurled banner of achieving prosperity by dint of self-reliance.
Circumstances and conditions may change with the current of the times and history and the acceleration of the advancing speed of the revolution, but the truth of the Korean revolution that victory must be achieved only by strengthening its internal might by its own efforts.
The Korean people will as ever uphold self-reliance as the banner of sure victory and blaze their path by their own efforts and build a socialist power on this land.
