In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea there are many people who make devoted efforts for the prosperity of the country.

Even at this moment, a great number of young men and women across the country volunteer to work at major construction sites and in difficult and labour-consuming sectors of the national economy. And many other working people serve their country faithfully at their own posts, be they deep pits, out-of-the-way mountain posts and windy fields.

It is the genuine features of the Korean society that it has a large contingent of patriots who devotedly work to lighten the heavy burden of the country even a bit, placing the state affairs above their family affairs and doing any jobs for the state without hesitation.

So, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said the Korean revolution is advancing not by dint of any mysterious divine power but on the great strength of the Korean people, including the heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il , who are following and safeguarding the Workers’ Party of Korea with a single mind.

Here is a story which remains etched in the minds of the Korean people.

On September 8, Juche 110 (2021), the day before the 73rd anniversary of the founding of the DPRK, labour innovators and meritorious persons who attended the celebrations of the anniversary were invited to a significant reception given in the garden of the office building of the WPK Central Committee in the presence of General Secretary Kim Jong Un .

They regarded it as their honour to attended the celebrations. But Kim Jong Un met them and inquired after their health and successes in their work, saying that the WPK regards them as the cornerstone and pillar of the state.

They were ordinary working people everywhere on this land.

But Kim Jong Un bestowed great trust in them as he treasured them working with patriotic devotion for the country, even though they may not be seen or appreciated.

Labour Hero Choe Song Ok at the Sinhung Farm in Kangnam County, Pyongyang, said:

I feel like I am still in a dream. Three years ago, Kim Jong Un met me in the garden of the office building of the Party Central Committee. Taking my hands rough and calloused from years of farm work, he inspired me to become a standard-bearer and source in embellishing society and pervading the whole country with greater revolutionary and patriotic zeal. At that time, I was filled with great happiness as if I had nothing to envy in the world. True to his earnest request, I harden my resolve to discharge my duty this year, too, fully conscious of being responsible for the supply of grain to the country.
