Art performances were given in celebration of the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung ), the greatest national holiday in April, in different parts of the country.
Celebration performances were staged in the halls of culture and open-air places in all provinces, cities and counties, adding festive mood to the April holiday.
Art groups from several units in the capital city of Pyongyang gave performances.
Through such numbers as oungum ensemble “Earnest Yearning for the Leader”, male solo “Leader, the Night Is Far Advanced” and chorus “His Eternal Smile”, art group members of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, Pyongyang Automation Appliances Factory and Kim Chaek University of Technology sang high praises of the sacred revolutionary career of Kim Il Sung who performed undying revolutionary exploits for the times and the revolution, the country and the people.
Art group members of Sosong, Tongdaewon, Pothonggang, Taesong, Songyo and Taedonggang districts in Pyongyang gave performances in front of the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, Tower of the Juche Idea, Ragwon, Ryomyonggori and Songyo cinemas and Ryugyong Health Complex, impressively representing the ardent yearning for Kim Il Sung , the father of the Korean people.
Art group members of various units in local areas also put on their stages colourful numbers to the delight of locals celebrating the Day of the Sun.
Art group members of Phyongsong College of Medical Sciences and South Phyongan Provincial Designing Institute, etc., gave performances in South Phyongan Provincial Hall of Culture, and those from the Kangwon Provincial People’s Committee, Kangwon provincial committee of the youth league and Wonsan University of Agriculture in the Haean Plaza in Wonsan City and in front of the Undok Health Complex and Wonsan Railway Station.
Similar celebration performances were also given in cities and counties of North Phyongan, South Hwanghae, North and South Hamgyong and Ryanggang provinces.
