Devoted service to the people—this is the one and only mode of existence of the Workers’ Party of Korea and its revolutionary discipline.

The WPK has always regarded and supported the people as God and been invariably faithful to its mission of taking responsibility for their destiny and life even in hard and difficult days.

The measures taken in Juche 110 (2021) can be cited.

In February that year the Second Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK noted that the building of dwelling houses is an important undertaking to provide the people with stable and highly cultured life, and stressed the need to build 10 000 flats in Pyongyang in the year.

In March the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked around a riverside area near the Pothong Gate. He expressed his determination to have the WPK Central Committee directly push ahead with the construction of terraced apartment houses for 800 families on the riverside around the gate, apart from the construction of 10 000 flats in Pyongyang, within that year to be presented to the working people in all sectors who were devotedly serving the Party and the state.

In this way the construction of the Pothong Riverside Terraced Houses District was pushed ahead with vigorously together with the construction of 10 000 flats in Pyongyang. Thus, in April this year, working people in the city moved into their new houses on Songhwa Street and in Kyongru-dong.

Meanwhile, the Third Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee held in June last year discussed the pending issues to be solved preferentially for stabilizing and improving the people’s living, and announced a relevant special order that Kim Jong Un personally signed. The meeting also discussed the matter of improving and intensifying the Party’s childcare policy and established a policy of supplying all children across the country with nourishing food including dairy products at the state expense.

And when officials were at a loss to know what to do over some flood-stricken regions of South Hamgyong Province in August 2021, he called a senior official of the provincial Party committee to learn about the state of damage in detail, and took measures to form rehabilitation forces and provide necessary materials.

Soon an enlarged meeting of the South Hamgyong Provincial Military Commission of the WPK adopted a relevant decision, and all the people and service personnel in the province turned out for the rehabilitation. A few months later, there took place house-moving ceremonies in the damaged areas of Sinhung, Hongwon and Yonggwang counties and Hamhung City.

The Third Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK held in September discussed the measures of the Party Central Committee to be taken for successfully concluding that year’s farming and making a breakthrough in solving the problem of food for the people

As the Party gives top and absolute priority to the people’s requirements and interests and sets forth the devoted service for them as its climate, it is steadily strengthening and developing into a motherly party enjoying absolute support and trust of the people, an invincible party which forms a harmonious whole with them.
