An event was held at Kim Il Sung Stadium to commemorate World Athletics Kids’ Athletics Day on May 7.
It was attended by officials of the Athletics Association of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and coaches, instructors and students from Amnokgang Sports Club and Rangnang District Extra-curricular Juvenile Sports School.
Referring to the fact that many People’s and Merited athletes, including Sin Kum Dan who set a new world record in the track and field event and marathon queen Jong Song Ok, have been produced under the leadership of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the speaker added that the event would serve as an important occasion in promoting the development of athletics techniques.
There was an experience presentation on the basic technical education of young reserve athletes.
The participants played various amusement games.
