West Coast Exchange, North Korea Watcher Conference, Sept. 2026

Recently, a Russian military carrier which was flying to Belgorod was shot down by several ground-to-air missiles launched by the Ukrainian army.

This has caused a tragic accident of killing 74 people on board the plane including 65 POWs of the Ukrainian army, 6 crew members, and 3 escorts.

Immediately after the incident, the Russian defence ministry exposed the fact that the terrorist act was committed by the Zelensky clique who already knew about the Russian military carrier flying over Belgorod carrying POWs of the Ukrainian army in accordance with the agreement on the exchange of prisoners reached by both belligerent parties. It added that the aim was to shift the blame for the death of Ukrainian soldiers onto Russia.

At an open meeting of the UN Security Council held at the urgent request of Russia, the first deputy permanent representative of Russia to the United Nations said that member states of the UN and UN Security Council should strongly denounce the terrorist act of Kiev and defined the silence of the UN Security Council as a shameful act of acquitting the corrupt Zelensky clique.

On several occasions including in the meeting with the university students who participated in the special military operation, President Putin stressed that Kiev authorities had perpetrated a crime of shooting down a Russian military carrier that was transporting Ukrainian POWs by using the U.S.“Patriot” missile defence system. He declared that the damage done to the Russian people will never be forgotten, no matter how hard the West try to cover it up.

High-ranking officials including Lavrov, the Foreign Minister and Peskov, the Press Secretary of the Russian President expressed strong anger at the U.S. and the West for turning a blind eye to and keeping mum about the heinous terrorist act of the Ukrainian authority when the incident deserves to be denounced and censured by the international community for its criminal nature.

They called for a thorough international investigation to be launched while accusing the U.S., which continues to cling to military assistance to Ukraine, of complicity in this incident.
