Recently, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry condemned the U.S. for seriously infringing upon sovereignty and security interests of China, when the U.S. State Department approved a sales plan for advanced and upgraded tactical data system worth almost US$ 75 million to Taiwan and the U.S. congressmen asserted that the U.S. would continue to support Taiwan, whoever holds the next presidency, when they had visited Taiwan.

The spokesperson stressed that China strongly opposes the U.S. sale of weapons to Taiwan and any form of government-level exchange with the Taiwan authority, saying that Taiwan is an inseparable part of the Chinese territory.

Then she strongly demanded that the U.S. stop an arms sale to and military contact with Taiwan, refrain from creating instability in the Taiwan Strait, stop the government-level exchange with Taiwan and never send out any wrong signal to the separatist force seeking “independence of Taiwan”.

In conclusion, the spokesperson clarified the stand that China would take decisive and strong measures to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of China.
