The CivilServants’ Games-2024 came to a close.
Such events as volleyball (men), table-tennis,tug-of-war, Taekwon-Do and hurdles were held in different places of Pyongyangfrom March 5. The participants gave full play to the united might of thecollective and the skills they honed through mass-based sporting activities.
Taking the first place in total groupstandings were teams of the State Planning Commission, the Foreign Trade Bank,the Taesong Bank and the Radio-Television Broadcasting Committee of the DPRK.
A closing ceremony took place at theTaekwon-Do Hall on March 27.
Present there were Pak In Chol, chairmanof the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea,Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concernedand officials and players of commissions, ministries and national agenciesexemplary in mass-based sporting activities.
The total standings and standings in eachevent were announced, and citations and medals awarded to the organizations andplayers who proved successful.
Pak In Chol made a closing address.
He referred to the fact that the gamesfurther stimulated public interest in sports, clearly proved once again thevalidity and vitality of the policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea on makingsports mass-based and part of everyday life and added revolutionary vigour andoptimism to all the people who are out in the campaign to usher in a new era ofnational rejuvenation.
All the officials of commissions,ministries and national agencies should fulfil their responsibilities and dutiesin the efforts to attain the goals put forth at the Eighth Congress of theParty by keeping up the surging enthusiasm for sports and fighting spirit, hestressed.
