The Juche 113(2024) General Meeting of the DPRK Olympic Committee tookplace at the People’s Palace of Culture in Pyongyang on March 29.
Present there were Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports whois chairman of the DPRK Olympic Committee, members of the Olympic Committee andofficials in the sports field and relevant sector.
The general meetingreviewed the work of last year of the DPRK Olympic Committee and discussed theorientation of the work of the DPRK Olympic Committee in 2024.
The report of Kim IlGuk was followed by speeches.
Speakers referred to the fact that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un highly praised thesportspersons for achieving marked successes in the international events and thesports sector for making unique contributions to bringing about new changes in2023, and that he paid close attention to the sports sector and clarified theorientation and ways for its development.
They said that effortswere made last year to push ahead with the work to develop professional sportstechniques, put instruction and training on a scientific footing and consolidatethe material and technical foundations of the sports sector and thatcooperation with international sports organizations was further promoted.
They emphasized the needto comprehensively improve the technical levels of all sports by speeding up thedevelopment of sports techniques, demonstrate the dignity and might of thecountry in the major international events including the 33rd OlympicGames and further fire the whole country with a zeal for sports, thereby givinga great encouragement to the people who work hard to usher in a new era ofnational rejuvenation.
The general meetingdiscussed practical matters to bring about a radical turn in the country’ssports including the rapid development of professional sports techniques andthe organization of vigorous mass sports activities.
