President Kim Il Sung (April 15, 1912-July 8, 1994) was a peerless patriot who accomplished the great cause of building a state by dint of self-reliance and built the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a dignified socialist country with his outstanding idea of nation-building and extraordinary leadership.

The President founded the Juche idea and opened up the ever-victorious history of the country with its might.

He established the Juche idea as the political philosophy of the DPRK and applied it to the building of the state and its activities in all aspects, thus leading the country along the road of victory and glory. Thanks to his energetic leadership, the DPRK could dynamically advance along the road of building a prosperous and powerful country without any slightest mistake or stagnation and create world-startling miracles in all fields including politics, the economy, military affairs and culture.

The President opened a new history of building a powerful country which demonstrates its dignity with independence. Thanks to his staunch independent faith that enabled him to solve all problems with the Korean revolution at the centre, and matchless courage and resolute determination with which he never pardoned nor showed mercy for the slightest act of violating the dignity and sovereignty of the country, difficult and complicated social reforms were successfully carried out in conformity with the aspiration of the Korean people and the specific conditions of the country, and the DPRK could proudly exercise its influence in the international arena.

In the 20th century when flunkeyism, dogmatism and dominationism were rampant, Kim Il Sung held high the banner of independence with a firm resolve. And his revolutionary practice is a miracle noteworthy in the history of modern politics as he never compromised the principle of independence but consistently pushed forward the cause of building a powerful country under such harsh circumstances where the high-handedness and arbitrary practices of imperialism and dominationism were rampant.

Regarding it as his motto to believe in the people as god, the President worked heart and soul to build a genuine people's country where they are the masters of everything and everything serves them.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of him who formulated the revolution as love for and trust in the people and made ceaseless journey for field guidance for them, all the policies of the country were made with their demands, interests and convenience as the criteria and a people-centred socialist system, in which they are provided with all rights as befit social beings including political freedom and rights, the rights to work and rest, was established.

The President successfully modelled the whole society on the monolithic idea and turned the revolutionary ranks into a powerful integral whole united with comradely love and obligation and the country into a great socialist family harmonious with noble virtues and affection. And he perfectly carried out the important tasks for state building by dint of its inexhaustible strength. This constitutes his distinguished exploit.

On the occasion of the founding anniversary of the DPRK (September 9, 1948), the Korean people extend boundless thanks to Kim Il Sung who set an example of the era in building a socialist state on this land where centuries-old backwardness and poverty prevailed. They are full of enthusiasm to uphold with loyalty the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is leading the struggle to build a socialist power with the President’s idea of state building and his exploits for it as an eternal cornerstone.
