The Cabinet of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea hosted a reception at the Okryu Restaurant in Pyongyang on November 14 in honour of the players who won the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and the IBA Youth World Boxing Championships 2024.
Present there were Premier Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the National Sports Guidance Committee, Kim Il Guk, minister of Physical Culture and Sports, Sin Yong Chol, secretary general of the Football Association, Kim Won Chol, secretary general of the Boxing Association, players and coaches of the football and boxing players teams, their families, officials concerned, officials in the sports field and others.
Kim Tok Hun made a congratulatory address.
He congratulated the women’s footballers and boxers and coaches upon adding shine to powerful Korea and making a report on victory to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un by winning gold medals in international games.
He expressed belief and conviction that all the players and coaches would continue to fly the national flag of the dignified DPRK in the international games in future, too.
Jon Il Chong and Son Su Rim in their reply addresses expressed their determination to further demonstrate the dignity and honour of the great state with gold medals by steadily putting spur to training, not content with the already-won successes.
