Some workers at the Phyongsong Synthetic Leather Factory were taken to the South Phyongan Provincial General Hospital on April 9 last year after they sustained injuries while working.
Medical workers buckled down to treatment.
They held several consultations a day and applied new treatment methods one after another. They opted for medicines in a responsible manner after careful consideration of each patient’s condition.
Thanks to their sincerity, Kim Song Il and Yun Kyong recovered their health and left the hospital in scores of days.
But the other patient, Cha Kwang Chol, was still in a critical state due to severe complex injuries and massive haemorrhage.
Thanks to the efforts of the medical team, Cha’s vital signs stabilized and he regained consciousness, but there remained challenges such as fractured, if not broken, thighs and knees and other joints, skinless soles of the feet with noticeable bone and flesh and necrosis of heels.
The medical workers worked together to bring him back to life.
While Cha underwent treatment at the neurosurgery department, the limbs and orthopaedics department and the orthopaedic microsurgical laboratory, doctors and nurses in charge were changed but their sincerity was all the same.
Senior provincial officials and his fellow workers paid frequent visits to the hospital to acquaint themselves with his condition and render assistance to his treatment. And they helped refurbish his home in order to save him inconvenience in his life out of hospital.
Indeed, they were all Cha’s own flesh and blood.
On October 9, after hundreds of days in hospital, Cha Kwang Chol was discharged in good health.
“I’d like to dedicate my new life to the prosperity of the country,” he said to well-wishers.
His mind is shared by Kim Song Il and Yun Kyong who are now working in good health.
