OnOctober 30, there were the final matches of the Inter-Provincial Games inCelebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Day of Sports-2024 andthe closing ceremony for the DPRK Championships and the inter-provincial games tookplace at the Taekwon-Do Palace in Pyongyang.
Thefinal matches of the inter-provincial games were played first.
Pyongyangmunicipal and South Phyongan provincial teams had amen’s volleyball match.
Theformer beat the latter in the seesaw match.
SouthHamgyong and North Hwanghae provinces came first respectively in the match ofcarrying a ball on the head, holding others in arms and dribbling another oneand the word puzzle after hurdles, while North Hamgyong Province was triumphantin the thrilling arm-wrestling.
An eye-catcherwas the final match of tug-of-war, a demonstration of team spirit and unity,between Pyongyang municipal and North Phyongan provincial teams.
Theformer beat the latter 2-0.
Then,there followed the closing ceremony of the DPRK Championships and theInter-Provincial Games in Celebration of the 75th Anniversary of theDay of Sports-2024.
Maleand female players of the April 25 Sports Team won the basketball event of thechampionships and men of the Kigwancha Sports Club and women of the April 25Sports Team the volleyball event. Twenty-five new national records were set in athletics,weightlifting, swimming and shooting events.
Inthe inter-provincial games, Pyongyang Municipality topped the total rankingsand South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces came second and thirdrespectively.
Therewas the announcement of rankings of major events of the championships, thenames of those who set new national records and provincial total rankings andstandings according to sports events and rooting at the inter-provincial gamesand cups, rotating trophies and new record medals were awarded to the excellentteams and players.
Thenational competitions made a positive contribution to developing the professionalsporting techniques and mass-based sports of the country as they served as goodoccasions adding joy and optimism to the whole society.
