Universities in the DPRK are on the way towards research-oriented models.
Kim Il Sung University is working to compile teaching materials of new subjects in line with world standards, with an eye to applying research-oriented methods to teaching and learning.
To this end, measures have been taken to provide lecturers and researchers with conditions for teaching and research by building a comprehensive database and setting up modern experimental and educational hubs.
Efforts are being made to integrate education, scientific research and production through activities for developing cutting-edge technologies and carrying out research projects in reality.
And prospective projects are being pushed ahead to complete a new educational system based on the postgraduate course.
Meanwhile, Kim Chaek University of Technology is pushing ahead with plans for building new intellectual property products production bases, upgrading its integrated teaching management system and producing thousands of lecture videos for hundreds of subjects.
On the basis of the experience gained in the establishment of the general experimental and educational hall last year, the university is set to newly build different experimental bases such as AI and mechatronic labs this year in order to improve practical abilities of students.
