The Workers’ Party of Korea is called the powerful political staff of the Korean revolution, organizer of all victories of the Korean people, longest-serving socialist ruling party, dignified revolutionary party with seasoned leadership ability and invincible fighting efficiency, etc. Herein lie its features.

These appellations symbolizing the immortal exploits it has performed for the times and history and for the country and the revolution, are based on its ideal of believing in the people as in Heaven and devoted service for the people.

Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as its guiding ideology is in essence the people-first principle and the supreme principle of its activities is to steadily improve the people’s standard of living.

The WPK is the motherly Party striving to provide the people with the most stable, affluent and civilized living environment and conditions.

It regards anything, big or small, as a matter of utmost importance if it is related to the people or for their own sake and achieves perfect results in the shortest possible time, at any cost and in any circumstances.

It works hard to bring eternal happiness and laughter to the people with the steadfast spirit of serving them.

In recent years alone it has built splendid structures for them one after another across the country despite difficulties and hardships it faced, pushed ahead more vigorously with the housing construction in the capital city and rural areas. It has ensured that nutritious dairy products as well as Sonamu -brand satchels, uniforms and school things were regularly supplied to the children and students throughout the country on its own responsibility.

It is never content with work for the people.

Now a surge of excitement runs through the whole country with splendid inauguration of the first entities of its regional development policy.

Finding the pride of waging the revolution and struggle in seeing the people in boundless joy, the WPK made another important decision at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of its Eighth Central Committee to formally include in the Regional Development 20×10 Policy the construction of public health and grain storage facilities and leisure complexes in addition to the ongoing construction of the regional-industry factories.

As it judged that it is impossible to provide the people with better living conditions and environment only by constructing some regional-industry factories in every city and county and as the happy laughter of the people represents the strength of the powerful state, the Party has shouldered all the burdens with pleasure.

For the Party no emergency is more serious than people’s sufferings and no important revolutionary work is more crucial than alleviating their misfortune.

In late July last year flood hit Uiju County of North Phyongan Province and some other areas. In the life-threatening situation the Party launched immediate air and water rescue operations to evacuate the people from the flooded zones, thus miraculously saving them all.

It convened the 22nd Emergency Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of its Eighth Central Committee in a flood-hit area and took strong measures for rehabilitation. This showcases the outlook on the people of the Party which regards it as the most important affair to relieve the people of misfortune as early as possible.

The advent of comprehensive development, or significant transformation of comprehensive rejuvenation, in which the capital city and regions change and thrive simultaneously and a new heyday of socialist construction is the fruits of the Party’s unshakable executive ability to live up to the important responsibility entrusted by the times and people with its absolute devotion.

Thanks to the great Party which values the trust and expectation of the people and brings flowers into bloom even on a rock if it is for their good, the Korean people support the Party and socialism with all sincerity.
