The notorious “death swans” nested in Japan.

According to the US Indo-Pacific Command on April 20, several B-1B strategic bombers of the US Air Force were deployed from the US mainland to the Misawa Air Force base of the US forces in Japan.

Its military significance lies in the fact that it means the long-term and permanent presence of the US strategic assets in the depth of the Asia-Pacific region, not their temporary deployment for the US-Japan joint drill or for muscle-flexing against regional countries.

As everybody knows, B-1B is one of the strategic bomber triad of the US together with B-52 and B-2 and the enemies are vociferously calling them “death swans.”

The deployment of B-1Bs in Japan shows that the military fundamentals of the US which has resorted to the use of force in the Asia-Pacific region with Guam as its main launching base and starting position is changing into a more vicious one. This is clearly a very serious development harmful to regional security.

The US is claiming that it is “the first deployment of ‘Bomber Task Force’ of the US Air Force into Japan that can make rapid sortie anywhere in the world”, that “the deployment contributes to the interoperability between the US and Japan and regional stability” and that it will “show devotion to the free and open Indo-Pacific security.” However, it is as clear as noonday what sort of “devotion” the “death swans” would make to the regional security.

The world knows the “colossal role” played by the US forces, especially the US strategic assets, which had made their appearance in the Asia-Pacific region, in destroying the security environment of the region and aggravating the situation.

The US has long been frantic in pressurizing regional countries and expanding military involvement by frequently sending various kinds of strategic bombers and other strategic assets to Japan, the ROK and other regions.

Typically, this year alone, the US sent B-1B strategic bombers to the sky over the areas around the Korean peninsula three times to stage joint air drills with its junior allies, thus driving the acute military confrontation on the Korean peninsula, the world’s hottest spot, into a dangerous phase of conflict.

Not content with this vicious cycle, the US is now trying to increase the level of confrontation targeting regional countries onto the highest-ever level with the Japanese archipelago and the ROK as its outposts by operating strategic assets capable of flying at any time in the depth of the region through the long-term deployment of strategic bombers in Japan.

The “death swans” that have nested in Japan will not “contribute” to regional security but only serve the US’s political and military hegemony in the Asia-Pacific region and the formation of the US-led exclusive military bloc.

The US should clearly understand.

The Asia-Pacific region is not a fragile area where the US can change the balance of regional security at will with several strategic bombers.

The US moves to destroy peace and stability by escalating military threats to the Asia-Pacific region will be subject to due counterattack by the regional people.
