A joint national meeting of the Korean Children’s Union organizations took place in Pyongyang on June 6 to celebrate the 79th founding anniversary of the KCU.

Attending it were participants in the celebrations of the 79th founding anniversary of the KCU, students of Mangyongdae Revolutionary School and Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School, schoolchildren in Pyongyang and members of the delegation of Korean schoolchildren in Japan.

Present there on invitation were Choe Tong Myong, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Sung Du, minister of Education, and officials of the youth league.

Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, made a report.

The reporter said that thanks to the warm care of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who made sure that the founding anniversary of the KCU was celebrated with splendour as a happy holiday of the KCU members across the country every year, the children of ordinary working people had the honour to take part in the celebrations, as ever before, with the pride in preparing themselves to be knowledgeable, virtuous and healthy and with the successes in socio-political activities and good-conduct movement.

Thanks to the benevolence of the respected fatherly Marshal who is so concerned about the growth of children away from homeland, Korean schoolchildren in Japan participated in the grand celebration with the pride and honour of steadily carrying forward the patriotic traditions as successors to the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan in the alien land, he said.

He called upon all schoolchildren to prepare themselves to be true members of the KCU, bearing in mind that the DPRK is strong and the hope and rosy future of the new generations are guaranteed thanks to the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un .

Speakers expressed their determination to become strong pillars and true members of the KCU staunchly carrying forward the Juche cause as desired by the respected fatherly Marshal.

Adopted at the meeting was an appeal to the members of the KCU across the country to greet the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea with the pride in preparing themselves to be amply knowledgeable, morally impeccable and physically strong and with greater successes in socio-political activities and good-conduct movement.
