On March 2 2017, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, general secretary of theWorkers’ Party of Korea, visited Mangyongdae Revolutionary School with trees ofgood species to plant them with its students.
Pointing to the two trees on a small truck, he saidthat he would liketo plant the treesaround the statues of PresidentKim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il together with the studentsand that he would shovel earth first for tree planting that day. And he took ashovel and pushed it hardinto the earth.
He stopped working for a while and gavedetailed instructions to them, saying that they should dig the holes wider, but nottoo deep, and that around 80cm deep would be enough.
Looking at the students enthusiastically digging the holeswith a warm smile on his face, he told the officials that the baton of therevolution should be carried forward even in patriotism and the purpose of hisvisit to the school that day was to ensure that the students who should take upthe baton of the revolution would inherit patriotism.
The officials could hardly repress the surge ofexcitement. Looking at them, hecontinued to say that through such course of treeplanting they should deeply implant in the minds of the students the love forthe mountains and rivers of the country and the attitude of a master that allthese assets are their own, adding that their sense of patriotism would grow asmuch as the trees planted and cultivated by them grow.
The trees planted by the respected General Secretarywith the students were swaying lightly in the spring wind, bearing in theirgrowth rings the story thatwould go down in historyforever.
