What is the most precious wealth of life? Who is the happiest one with what kind of wealth?
The family of Maeng Thae Won, Section Chief of the Faculty of Chemistry of Kim Il Sung University is a family of doctors loved and respected by people.
Maeng Thae Won is a Doctor of Chemistry and his wife Jo Sin Ok and his daughter Maeng Yu Gyong are Doctors of Medicine.
Whenever her family enjoys respect and love of the people, Maeng Yu Gyong look back upon the days of her growth.
"I grew up listening to the appellation 'family of doctors'. So I thought I would surely become a doctor in the future.
In the course of my scientific researches, however, I felt that it was really difficult.
But I decided to realize my desire like my parents who have been making scientific researches all their lives."
Maeng Thae Won has been devoting his life to the research into catalysts of great importance in making the chemical industry of the country Juche-oriented.
He was awarded the February 16 Science and Technology Prize, the highest one of the country, in February 2023.
Jo Sin Ok, a Meritorious Person of Socialist Patriotism, is an authority on medical genetics of the country.
Maeng Thae Won and his wife graduated from universities as they hoped under the benefits of the socialist free education system and are leaving clear traces on the road of scientific exploration.
That is why they always tell their only daughter that the doctor's medal represents the expectation and trust of the country and people wishing them to make greater scientific research findings.
Maeng Yu Gyong who is studying speech pathology became a doctor at the age of 33. She said:
"I don't think I did all I could as I got doctorate. It is nothing but a beginning.
I will devote all my wisdom and passion to do more good things for the country and people and for the children."
The true wealth of life is by no means a material wealth that can be calculated in size and value. It is a pride of what one has devoted to the country and people and how one made a contribution to them.
Happiest are those people who value the interests of the country and people more than their own and devote their all to them and regard the honour for it as the true wealth of life.
