A large number of agricultural workers in different parts of the country enroll in online education course while they are working.
According to an official of the online education faculty of Pyongyang University of Agriculture, well over a thousand farmers receive online education offered by the university and the number of the applicants for the course is on the increase. The enrolment this year is 1.5 times as many as that of the previous year.
For example, over 40 persons including more than 30 farmers at the Ponghwa Farm, Kangdong County, Pyongyang Municipality were admitted to the education system. Among them are young people, experienced farmers who have produced high crop yields and even married women.
The case is the same with Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture, Haeju Kim Je Won College of Agriculture and other agricultural universities and colleges across the country.
Scores of farmers of a workteam of the Haeso Farm in Sariwon, North Hwanghae Province, including its leader, are receiving the online education offered by Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture.
The daily lecture helps the farmers acquire advanced farming methods and various techniques including those of mechanics and water and soil management and they, through their farming practice, consolidate what they have learned.
All the farmers in the country are preparing themselves to be intelligent workers equipped with modern science and technology and masters of rural rejuvenation. This shows the Korean countryside has a bright future.
