The Taedonggang Foodstuff Factory has been familiar to local consumers for over 20 years for its brand-name Pyongyang peppered rice paste.
The peppered rice paste has beautiful colour, peculiar aroma and sweet and hot taste, and it is one of the specialities of the factory.
Over the decades, the factory has focused efforts on producing a variety of iconic condiments by retaining the taste of the soybean paste featuring the Korean foods.
Now it turns out more than 50 kinds of bean paste, soy sauce and peppered bean paste.
Among the bean pastes are fermented paste, paste mixed with perilla seeds and paste with boiled meat, and peppered bean pastes include those supplemented by functional materials such as ginger, Codonopsis lanceolata and broad bellflower.
Besides, it churns out fermented soy sauce, monosodium glutamate soy sauce, kelp soy sauce, hot-tasting soy sauce and mushroom soy sauce among others.
In particular, fermented bean paste, fermented peppered bean paste, sesame peppered bean paste, garlic-flavoured peppered paste, orange-flavoured soy sauce, peppered rice paste and vinegar-flavoured peppered bean paste are enjoying popularity among housewives for their good taste and rich nutritional contents.
All of the products satisfy all quality indexes such as salinity and moisture.
The Pyongyang-brand condiments are recognized as health foods in terms of nutritional value, safety and function.
Most recently the factory has unveiled a range of products including fermented bean paste for children.
This paste made with carrot and sand launce as part of raw materials contains calcium, vitamins, iodine and others which are very good for the growth of children.
The Pyongyang-brand condiments have been highly appreciated at different national consumer goods shows, and the demand for them is on the increase.
