Since the Workers’ Party of Korea set forth the policy on changing the grain production structure of the country, the wheat processing capacity has been further enhanced on a nationwide scale.
The Ministry of Food Administration has pushed ahead with the work to enhance the wheat processing capacity in keeping with the increase in wheat output.
A modern large-capacity wheat processing factory has been built in Kangnyong County of South Hwanghae Province and Singye County of North Hwanghae Province respectively in a little over a year.
Both of them are equipped with the selecting, washing and milling processes conducive to improving the quality of flour and increasing the output, as well as a sci-tech learning space.
Modernization projects have been carried out on a high level at the wheat processing factories in Haeju, Nampho and Songnim, while similar facilities have been built at the grain storage stations in some cities and counties according to their regional wheat output.
The Pyongyang Grain Processing Machine Factory has also made successes in the work to manufacture relevant equipment to suit the trend of the grain processing equipment.
As a result, the national capacity for wheat processing has nearly doubled over the past three years.
The wheat processing factories are now producing various kinds of products in high demand such as noodles, dumplings, bread and cakes.
