The 61st nationalsports school contest was held in different places, including PyongyangMunicipality and the cities of Phyongsong, Sariwon, Wonsan and Samjiyon from mid-July.
Competitions took place inmore than 20 events, including football, basketball, volleyball, table tennisand boxing.
Students selected from eachprovince, city and county achieved good results by displaying the sportstechnique which they had practised in ordinary times and the dogged fightingspirit, spirit of collectivism and good sportsmanship.
The closing ceremony held inTongnim County on August 15 was attended by officials concerned, players and otherstudents in the county.
Trophies and medals wereawarded to successful teams and players.
At the ceremony, the speakerstressed that instructors and students of all sports schools across the countryshould consolidate the successes and experience gained in the contest, organizeand do teaching and training on a scientific basis and in a systematic way andtrain harder to prepare themselves as excellent reserve players.
