On June 19 1964, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il had a trulymeaningful conversation.
When the President asked him the impressionhe received at the Central Committee of the Workers’Party of Korea, the Chairman analysed in detail the reality of the Party he had grasped.
The Presidentattentively listened to the Chairman, who pointed out the problems that should be overcome without fail for the strengthening and development of the Party, and said that only whenParty work goes smoothly can the economy grow vigorously and the people be better off.
Soon after theconversation was over, Kim Jong Il went to the Party Central Committee to workenergetically, while having a talk with an official of thePyongyang Municipal Party Committee and giving precious instructions on Party work to an official of the Party Central Committee.
Before long, thefollowing day dawned.
He came out to the yard together with officials. The officials were filled with excitement as they greeted the new day with him. Looking at the red Party flag fluttering on top ofthe office building of the WPK Central Committee, he said: We should fly high that red flag from now on.
Our Party should invariably develop into the glorious party of Comrade Kim Il Sung not only in the past andtoday but also in the future, he said, adding that it is his lifelong task todevelop the Party into the party of Comrade Kim Il Sung forever.
It was a solemn pledge of succession the peerlessly great man made before the times and history.
