One day in April 2019, when the Yangdok Hot SpringResort was under construction, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Unvisited the site to learn about the project.
He said to the officials that he was right to have determined to build the resort so that visitors can enjoy skiing as well as hot spring bath.
A hot spring resort combinedwith a winter skislope was really ideal.
Asthe officials visualized the happy looks of the people who would enjoy hotspring bath and skiing, the General Secretary said that the Yangdok area is favourable for buildinga ski run for the heavy snowfall and weather.
The officials hurriedly looked around the surrounding mountains.Among the steep mountains, there was a hill suitable for a ski course.
But next moment, they wondered what the climatic conditions in the area were like. The climate is one of the conditionsthat cannot be ignored in buildinga ski resort.
Reading their mind, he said: An analysis of the successive dataon the climate in the Yangdok area shows that the area has three more snowy days and lower temperature than the Masikryong area. Considering this,the Yangdok area is more favourable than the Masikryong area for building a skiing ground.
The officials were filled with surprise.They were deeply moved at the thought of the ardent devotion of the benevolentfather who had made great efforts to study a lot of climate data in orderto construct a ski trail in the Yangdok Hot Spring Resort.
